Hong Kong brand Mejido (麵道) has announced that its popular product, "Egg Bamboo Noodles" (雞蛋竹昇麵), is now officially available at selected Wellcome and Market Place stores.
The brand traces its origins to Mejido Noodle, founded in Sydney, Australia, in 1996 with a core philosophy of "Delicious + Nutritious." In 1999, it expanded into China to serve a broader market. In 2024, the brand launched "Mejido" in Hong Kong, leveraging over 28 years of noodle-making expertise to address the dual demands of modern families for both health and flavor.
The "Egg Bamboo Noodle" inherits the traditional bamboo pole kneading technique (Jook-Sing), creating noodles that are crisp, springy, and al dente, recreating authentic Hong Kong flavors. The formula emphasizes health with no additives—free from MSG and artificial colors—and utilizes a non-fried process to preserve the natural aroma of wheat and eggs, resulting in a cleaner, fresher taste. A high proportion of eggs gives the noodles an inviting golden hue, making them excellent for both soup noodles and dry-tossed dishes. The recommended cooking time is approximately 120 seconds, adjustable to personal texture preference.
The brand also continues to advance its sustainability commitments, reducing its environmental footprint through energy-saving manufacturing processes and waste reduction management, while gradually increasing the use of eco-friendly packaging.
To celebrate the launch, a limited-time offer is now available: From August 1st to August 30th, customers can enjoy a promotional price of HK$27 at designated Wellcome and Market Place stores.
